Kensuke's Kingdom
Kensuke’s Kingdom
This story is about a boy called Michael from England. His parents brought a boat called the Peggy Sue. They travelled the world.
One night Michael fell overboard when he was on watch.
He washed up on a deserted island.
He meets and old Japanese man who cares for the Gibbons and Orangutans.
He finds a cave to live in and he builds a beacon on top in the hope he may be rescued.
Together with Kensuke they painted, help turtles and played with the Gibbons and Orangutans. One time Michael wanted to go home so found a bottle and write a note he threw in as far as he could hoping someone would find it. One day Stalla found a bottle and it was same one that Michael threw in Kensuke wasn't mad but disappointed Kensuke didn't talk to him like all the other days but they made up.
One day Michael and Kensuke were sitting on the beach and then Michael saw a boat heading there way he was waving his hands and then he saw the name of the boat it was the Peggy Sue at the end he was back with his family.
this term was awesome so sad it has to end
The Great LunchTime Game
The Great Lunchtime Game.
We play capture the flag at lunchtime. The game is played with two teams - one team is identified with bibs and the other team has nothing. Both teams have to go to the ends of the field to their base with the cones around the flag since we don’t have flags we just use the rugby balls. There is a person in the middle umpiring the game.
When the umpire asks both teams are they ready and they say yes then he says “let's get it on”. Then both teams have to stay on dividends or run to the middle and try to get to the other team's base. If the team is in the base you can’t tag them or goose guard them.
First we have to set the cones at the halfway line and make a base at each end of the field.
The aim of the game is to try to get the flag back to your side of the field without getting tagged so you can get a point or stay on defend so the other team doesn’t get a point.
Strategies we can use in Capture the flag are: The first one is when they are out of the box and there far away you can go by the base and block it so they can’t get back in.
The second one is to not fall for their tricks like if they say “here come grab the ball I won't tag you” and then when you go and get the ball they while tag you.
“A lesson I have learned from capture the flag is that it’s important to have fun and teamwork it’s not just about winning and being a champion”.
Pania.

Awesome Writing Siamani! Awesome Game, Whangaruru School.
The Great Lunchtime Game Siamani
Capture the flag is played on a field. When you set the cones out you have to make a circle with them at each end of the field. You also put a row of cones along the half-way line.
The two teams are sorted out. One of the teams gets bibs and the other team doesn’t.
Each team gets their own territory to stop people from getting in the circle because inside the circle there is a ball that represents the flag .
If you get tagged you have to sit down and wait until someone comes and saves you. If you get saved by your teammate you can’t let go of their hand because the other team would be allowed to tag you but if you hold on to your teammate then that way you won’t get tagged.
The aim of the game is to try and get into their circle so you can get their ball so you can get a goal.
Some good strategies to play are -if they have a good team the best solution is to stay on defence so they won’t get to a goal.Or if you have people in your team that can run really well then what you do is you distract them by running down one side then the person with ball runs. Hopefully they won't have enough time to go and tag the person with the ball.
It's a great game because you have to make smart decisions. The learning i have made from this game is that you don’t always win even if you have the fastest person in the team. It has taught me to stay focussed and not to get distracted.
